Registration Plates
Xuande-Xiphoian registration plates are issued by the national Government on behalf of the Regional Government Authorities and for some special purposes. Car plates are manufactured for use on the front and rear sized to International Standard E, 20.5 by 4.7 inches and manufactured from aluminium with a polymer cover which provides a field of holographic Century Suns; this is an anti-forgery tool. Each individual plate receives individual identification number which are micro-printed across the plate. Smaller plates are issued for motorcycle use.
Plates are manufactured at one of two automated facilities in Floumouli and Tóng Líng.
Plates are issued in a uniform pattern, comprising a two (occasionally one) letter regional identifier at the left in vertical type, followed in horizontal type identifying the year of issue with a letter (starting with A in 1991). The individual vehicle identifier follows, comprising of two characters followed by the Seal of Xuande-Xiphoi, followed by another four characters. The characters can range from AAAAA to 99999. Potentially offensive combinations of characters are automatically filtered out of circulation.
Plates are issued with black text over white background, with the exception of diplomatic vehicles which feature white text over a red background. All registration plates exclude the characters 1 and I; Q, O, and 0.

Special plates are issued for use by the Republics & Kingdom Council; the Chair of the Council's vehicle carries the marker C 1, with the remaining Council members holding C 2 to C 24 in order of seniority. The Prime Minister's vehicle carries the marker G 1.
